Asset management clients increasingly ask for more security regarding processes and the reliability of our policies and reports. One of our largest clients’ request was our main motive to start an ISAE implementation project. Although our organisation is familiar with Risk Management as such, the ISAE framework was fairly new to us.

Into Control managed the implementation professionally form start to finish. They supported us to achieve the delicate balance between risk control and the execution of control measures.

Next to the implementation of best practices, Into Control specifically created operational commitment and trained our staff. The implementation process served a more optimal risk appetite and process control. The Into Control Internal Test Function enables us to intervene on time when necessary. Next to this we ban doubles in external auditing.

Although there was some scepticism in the beginning, the ISAE framework is now broadly supported within the department and as a result we have proven to be ‘in control’. Other ABN AMRO departments are also interested in our ISAE framework.

We successfully fulfilled our ISAE type II project resulting in a “clean” statement.

A growing number of financial institutions outsource their credit management and related activities to our organisation. Our clients demand the highest possible security of reliability with regard to our debtor management, debt collection and saving processes.

ISAE 3402 appeared to be the standard with a correct standards framework. It went beyond our ISO 9001 certification. It was evident we could not implement this ISAE framework solely and therefore we sought support. Next to the traditional Big 4 we consulted Into Control. Into Control importantly impacted our organisation, process control and management. Especially their pragmatic approach, the search for the exact control criteria and securing a clear feasibility struck me the most.

In the meantime I am convinced that process driven organisations as well as process methodology like LSS are incomplete without a properly implemented ISAE framework. Grace to the ISAE framework Into Control developed in cooperation with our team our KPI’s became more transparent and managing our organisation became way easier. ISAE positively influences our performance and also effects a desired cultural and behavioural transformation.

It took some time to convince our staff and therefore I owe gratitude to the professionals of Into Control for their perseverance and no nonsense attitude. That made this result possible. In the meantime our staff adopted this way of working entirely and thanks to the training by Into Control we are capable to test and maintain the ISAE framework.

I am glad we chose this route and I am a proud manager of our staff who proved to have the necessary power to change. I am more than satifsfied with the “clean” ISAE 3402 type II statement being the result of this project and with the security we can prove our clients.

Sturdy processes being the foundation of a solid future market attendance

In life insurances we have great challenges to come. In a shrinking market we want to keep our portfolio profitable and at the same time optimise the service to our clients. In addition to this life insurances are closely watched by the supervisors. Efficiently and effectively investigation of the major risks and how to monitor these risk is crucial.

Risk Management is prioritised on our management agenda, but consequently this affects major cost reductions. A standard way of implementing  is just not sufficient.

We asked Into Control to support us lifting Risk Management to a secure maturity level and consequently improve its efficiency. In a short period of time Into Control enabled us to develop our internal control framework more efficiently and raise our effectiveness consequently. Our 50% reduction target has been surpassed and we now comply to the necessary quality standards. Because Into Control developed the optimised internal control in cooperation with the business and integrated it in the standing processes, the applicability, relevance and commitment for risk management never has been bigger.

I am happy with the optimisation and cost savings we attained in this project as well as with the raised commitment in our business. The alterations support immediately the identification of performance and quality issues. Next to this it gives us the opportunity to prevent losses and strengthen our capital exposure having our risk control organised.

I am sure we developed sturdier processes that help to make our future market attendance solid.

The valuation of real estate is one of the key points of our services and has the highest quality requirements in our business. For example, we comply with the guidelines of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the International Valuation Standards and the regulations of the Dutch Register Real Estate Appraisers. In recent years we have seen the demand for additional security in the form of an ISAE 3402 Declaration, especially among supervised organizations in the financial services industry. In a few cases this statement was made a condition for our services and as such a task for us. We have asked Into Control to support us in this. At the first meeting it turned out that Into Control had the right knowledge and experience to guide us through this and I am pleased to see that together we have succeeded in completing the process to an ISAE 3402 Type I within the set timelines. People in my team had already gone through various processes with a lot of hassle to implement these types of standards. Into Control arranged that sessions went smoothly and the implementation of adjustments with little to no resistance was implemented quickly and efficiently in the company.

I was happy to see how smoothly the discussions with the auditor went because we had demonstrably all the important elements in the file and were anchored within the processes. In conclusion, more has happened within the process than I initially expected, although I thought it was nice to note within this project that our processes were already pretty well in order. With respect for our existing processes, Into Control has helped improve reporting quality. Demonstrability and controllability of our processes have improved considerably. As a result, we can now offer our clients certainty about operational implementation as an additional element of our service
